Buffet, Guy
Internationally recognized French artist educated at Beaux Arts de Toulon and the Academie de Peinture de la Ville de Paris, initially gained extensive and worldwide experience as an Official Artist in the French Navy then later in China as a guest of the Peking Arts and Crafts Council. In 1989 his exhibition with the Monnaie de Paris received International acclaim, starting in Paris and later travelling to most major cities in USA and Canada and ending in Tokyo. |

Bronzino, Agnolo (Agnolo di Cosimo)
(1503-1572)
Florentine Mannerist painter, pupil (and adopted son) of Pontormo whose work he emulated but never quite achieved the emotional strengths evident in Pontormo's works. His main successes lay in the field of Portraiture in which he excelled, being appointed Court Painter to Duke Cosimo I de Medici for a large part of his career and influencing the course of European Court Portraiture fo the next 100 years. His skill and display of the nude is renowned. In 1563 Bronzino was one of the Founding Members of the Accademia del Disegno. |

Italian painter, highly esteemed by and enjoying the patronage of the principal families of Florence. Involved in the decoration of the Sistine Chapel in Rome and commended by influential diplomats and other leading persons. His reputation waned in his later life as his style of painting was overshadowed first by that of emerging painters including Perugino and Francesco Francia then by the High Renaissance style of Michelangelo and Raphael
