Yeames, William Frederick (1835-1918) English painter (born in Russia where his father was the British consul) first studied painting in Dresden then moved to London where he learnt composition and anatomy. In 1852 he went to Florence where he studied the techniques of the Old Masters which he continued in Rome. His extensive study of Italian art helped him to success on his return to London in 1859 where he exhibited at both the Royal Academy and the British Institution.
